It might not be the road conditions, it may be the idiot drivers!

Our family travelled seamlessly to Southland for Christmas. As a social media participant, I read with interest that some friends were held up by several road detours from major accidents. I asked myself, was it the road conditions or was it the idiot drivers? After a few pleasant days in Southland looking around the truck museum, chasing the Boxing Day sales and eating fish and chips on the green at Bluff, we ventured off on the road north. Not 10kms out of Invercargill, ourselves along with two cars ahead of us were passed in a continuous maneuovre by not one but two drivers. The words of describing the drivers as idiots shot out of our mouths. Driving the main road or State Highway 1 was mostly a great experience on the days we travelled. I looked on Facebook to see the idiot factor was out in force in the Mackenzie Basin and between Murchison. A couple of friends were passed on a blind corner by a red Toyota stationwagon and realised why our road toll gets so high. So just remember, it might not be the road conditions, it may be the idiot drivers!
